I cannot believe I have been home for summer for almost two months now! There were definitely perks and downsides to coming home earlier than all my friends. A few of the perks include: catching up on all my reading, working on a cookbook, managing our rental house and... (drum roll) QUILTING. My mother is an amazing quilter and I have tried over and over to fall in love with the hobby, but can't quite seem to find the joy in it. I can't tell you how many times I've had to pick out a seam or how I ran out of thread with only a little left to sew. Regardless of all the little (troublesome) tasks involved with sewing, the final product, I have to say, is priceless!
I actually started this quilt last year before I went off to college for Danny's Mom, but never had the time to finish it. So with all this newfound time I decided to get it done and was able to give it to her for her birthday this week. Happy Birthday Mrs. Vivier!!
After making four quilts over the years, this being my fourth, I still have not decided if it is something I will continue to do in the future! I do know I will cherish all the quilts my own mother has made for me and am always grateful for her patience in helping me figure out this quilting business.
