Series of Unfortunate Events

So lets just say that the first few weeks of my 4th semester of college I have found myself saying on more than one occasion "I cannot believe this happened to me."

Event #1
This place where I go to school (Utah) has had record breaking lows when it comes to the weather this year. I have never been so cold in my life. The other day this absolutely horrid thing happend. The whole state froze! It had rained in the early morning and because of the freezing temperatures everything turned to black ice. You should watch this video of BYU students trying to get to campus.

Well because the Ice was so slippery I ended up falling myself, of course. The problem was my NEW iPhone 5 was in my hand and I prayed as it fell down the flight of stairs (in slow motion) that it would be okay. Not so lucky... theres a nice crack right across my phone. There is even more sadness to this story but I won't go into anymore detail. But basically Apple's customer service stinks!


Event #2
I am a Peer Mentor for BYU Freshman Mentoring (look it up, it's great). Last Friday we put on a special event for Freshman where they got a free mug and hot chocolate. I had an hour shift in the hot chocolate stand where I was serving freshman. In the tent there was a propane heater to keep us warm. A freshman came up to me and said "Hey you are one fire!" I immediately thought it was some desperate attempt at hitting on me and I just kinda smiled back. He then said again "No you are really on fire" and I was! My North Face Jacket had caught on fire from the heater. It completely melted and my phone case was in the pocket and also melted. I am blessed I did not get burned and that Freshman was there to save me.

Although there have been some crazy things these past few weeks I am so grateful to have such wonderful friends to get my through these tough times.
